Membership Removal Policy

Veterans India is a national apolitical patriotic organization led by ex-servicemen, dedicated to fostering nationalism and patriotism among citizens, especially youth and students, for nation-building. We are committed to maintaining a respectful and productive environment for all our members. This Membership Removal Policy outlines the grounds and procedures for the removal of a member from Veterans India.

Grounds for Membership Removal

A member may be removed from Veterans India for any of the following reasons:

  • Violation of Code of Conduct: Engaging in behavior that is detrimental to the interests, objectives, or reputation of Veterans India, including but not limited to:
    • Harassment or discrimination of any kind.
    • Involvement in criminal activities.
    • Misuse of Veterans India's resources or name.
  • Non-compliance with Membership Obligations: Failing to fulfill the responsibilities and obligations of membership, including but not limited to:
    • Non-payment of membership dues.
    • Non-participation in mandatory activities or meetings.
  • Breach of Confidentiality: Unauthorized disclosure of sensitive or confidential information related to Veterans India or its members.
  • Conflict of Interest: Engaging in activities that create a conflict of interest with Veterans India’s mission or objectives.

Procedures for Membership Removal

  • Investigation:
    • Upon receiving a complaint or identifying a potential ground for removal, the Executive Committee will conduct a thorough investigation.
    • The member in question will be notified of the investigation and will be given an opportunity to present their case.
  • Review and Decision:
    • The findings of the investigation will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
    • The Executive Committee will make a decision based on the evidence presented. A two-thirds majority vote of the Executive Committee is required for removal.
  • Notification:
    • The member will be notified in writing of the decision regarding their removal.
    • If the decision is to remove the member, the notification will include the reasons for removal and the effective date.
  • Right to Appeal:
    • The removed member has the right to appeal the decision within 30 days of the notification.
    • The appeal must be submitted in writing to the Executive Committee, outlining the grounds for appeal.
    • The Executive Committee will review the appeal and make a final decision within 30 days. The decision on the appeal will be final and binding.

Consequences of Removal

  • Termination of Membership: The member’s membership will be terminated, and they will no longer have any rights or privileges associated with Veterans India.
  • Return of Property: The removed member must return any property, materials, or confidential information belonging to Veterans India.
  • Prohibition from Rejoining: The removed member may be prohibited from rejoining Veterans India in the future, subject to the discretion of the Executive Committee.

Confidentiality

All proceedings related to the investigation and removal of a member will be kept confidential to protect the privacy of all parties involved.

Amendments

This Membership Removal Policy may be amended from time to time by the Executive Committee. Members will be notified of any changes to the policy.
